Performance
Renault has a reputation for building stylish and distinctive cars, so it's no surprise that the Laguna Coupe is very attractive. It's based on the Laguna hatchback, which is evident at the front, but the rear has a unique look which helps it stand out. Elegant rather than sporty, the Laguna Coupe is also generously equipped and has a well built cabin. It's much better to drive than the standard Laguna and top-spec GT versions come with hi-tech 4Control four-wheel steer making them more agile on the road.
Comfort
The Laguna is cosy for four rather than truly spacious, although front seat occupants have decent room. Taller occupants may find their knees becoming sore from rubbing against the door pulls on longer journeys but with electrically adjustable seats optional on GT models it should be easy to find a perfect seating position for most people. Dual-zone electronic climate control is standard and the cabin is well insulated from engine, wind and tyre noise.
Safety
Renault has an excellent record for crash safety and has scored well in official independent crash tests with most of its range. The standard Laguna (on which the Laguna Coupe is based) scored the maximum five stars for adult occupant safety in Euro NCAP crash tests. Eight airbags are standard on all models as well as stability control.
