The sliding side doors are another useful feature and make access to the rear easy while safety is excellent. The 807 rarely really feels as big as it is, with nicely weighted steering and limited body roll considering the cars height.
As a long distance cruiser it's more than capable with excellent ride comfort that's only shown up by particularly poor surfaces and bumps at lower speeds. The 807 was one of the first people carriers score a maximum five-star Euro NCAP rating, although it originally received four stars and was retested after Peugeot made improvements. There are six airbags (including sidebags for rear passengers), plus electronic stability control on all models. Deadlocks, remote central locking (with buttons to operate the rear sliding doors) and etched windows are also standard.
