Peugeot 308 Gallery 
The 308 is great to drive, it has a well-judged balance of ride and handling, making it composed through bends and comfortable on the motorway. The suspension can be a little fidgety over uneven roads but tight steering and grown up road manners make it capable, if not engaging. Body control is pretty good on twisty roads and the car has a general reassuring feel when pressing on, as well as a firm but compliant ride in the tradition of some of Peugeot's larger cars.
Peugeot has made huge efforts to improve refinement in the 308. The seats are comfortable, there's little road or engine noise on the move and the ride soaks up bumps and potholes well. Thanks to the semi-tall profile the Peugeot will comfortably accommodate five adults but while rear passenger headroom is excellent thanks to the high stance, the legroom is only modest and little better than the 307. The glass roof (fitted to some models) is a neat touch and makes the cabin even lighter while air conditioning is standard on all models except the entry-level Urban specification.
The 308 has scored very well in the Euro NCAP crash tests, with a maximum five stars for adult occupant protection, four-stars for child protection using the manufacturer's recommended child seat and three stars out of four for pedestrian safety. Electronic stability control, which can help drivers regain control of a car during a skid, is standard on many models and optional on all others. There are also warning lights on all seatbelts.
