One Way Car Rental
Our Partners Alamo, Avis, Budget, Britz Motorhomes, Europcar, Jucy Rentals, Hertz, Maui Motorhomes, National, Sixt and Thrifty offer convenient one way rentals at attractive rates. The customer starts the rental in one location and returns the vehicle to another. RIH/LIT (Rent it Here / Leave it There)
Certain one-way rentals, such as from San Francisco to Honolulu, Australia Mainland to Tasmania, USA to Mexico (or vice versa) are not allowed.
There are so many combinations of collection & return points we ask you to send us your request so we can get the best rate and supplier to fit your individual needs. This information may change at any time by our suppliers.
Drop Charge / Inter-City Fee
This is a fee that is assessed for renting a vehicle in one rental location and returning the vehicle to another rental location. This is also known as an 'inter-city' fee.
Some one-way rentals are assessed a one-time drop charge or mileage charge in addition to the rental rate .
The drop charge fee varies by Supplier, rental location, car type and time of year. The drop charge fee will be advised by return email after you request a booking on our website and is payable at time of pick up.

AUSTRALIA
Thrifty:
Minimum rental period is 3 days within metro and 7-14 days cross region. Minimum rental for 4WD is 7 days.
Car group A is not available for one-way rentals.

Minimum rental period is normally 3 days within metro and 7 days cross region. Minimum rental for 4WD is 7 days. Please check price on booking. Car group A is not available for one-way rentals.
Europcar:
If you wish to return the car to a different rental location, please check the rate and feasibility during the reservation process. Europcar operates a National network in order to allow flexible travelling; however in non-participating locations you will be required to pay a higher price.

NEW ZEALAND
Hertz:
To/From Auckland, Wellington, Picton, Blenheim, Christchurch - Free of Charge 3 days minimum.
SOME REMOTE locations $85 GST. Vehicles are NOT taken on InterIsland Ferry
The client leaves their vehicle in each Island. We treat an Auckland to Christchurch hire as a two leg booking, 1st leg is Auckland to Wellington, and 2nd leg is Picton to Christchurch). BUT 1 VOUCHER. Clients check on to the ferry in a very similar fashion to an airplane. The baggage is checked on and they board the ferry. They drop their first car at the end of one Island and pickup a new car in the other Island. This saves the client at least $180 to transport the car.
Europcar:
Free of Charge North to South Island and Visa Versa over 5 Days. The client leaves their vehicle in each Island. We treat an Auckland to Christchurch hire as a two leg booking, 1st leg is Auckland to Wellington, and 2nd leg is Picton to Christchurch). Jucy:
When you travel between the North and South Island you must take your vehicle across on one of New Zealand's inter-island ferries.
Jucy Rentals are happy to assist with your ferry booking and strongly recommend advanced bookings between peak seasons (November through to March).
Clients can collect and pay for their tickets on collection of their vehicle from Jucy Rentals. No need to unpack and repack your car. Simply drive your Jucy rental vehicle on to the ferry and then just relax and enjoy the cruise. Upon approval at your destination get back into your vehicle and carry on with your journey!

One Ways are free of charge within the Mainland UK (Excepting People Movers)
For one way rentals between: Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Great Britain and Continental Europe, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, please contact your Reservation Centre.
Europcar:
Free of charge for rentals of 3 days.
Driving off mainland UK permitted subject to advance notice being given and EuropDrive being purchased at a cost paid locally. Excludes Mercedes.
Alamo:
Free of charge within mainland UK 3 days.
One- ways between Mainland U.K. and Northern Ireland are not permitted.
One-ways are not permitted between the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
One-way rentals are permitted from any Northern Ireland locations to the Republic of Ireland are Subject to a charge. International one-ways are NOT permitted.

Within Florida Free One Ways for Car Classes A- Economy 4-door, B - Compact 4-door, C -Midsize 4-door, F - Full-size 4-door, G - Luxury Premium 4-door, I - Luxury 4-door, R - Minivan, L - 4-Wheel Drive picked up and returned within the State of Florida.

Within Hawaii: Car Classes B - Compact 4-door, C -Midsize 4-door, D - Sporty 2 Door, F - Full-size 4-door, returned outside of the renting city are subject to a $20.00 drop charge. All other car classes must be returned to renting city.
Free One Ways will apply for car classes B - Compact 4-door, C -Midsize 4-door, D - Sporty 2 Door, & F - Full-size 4-door between the following East Coast Airports: Washington Dulles, Washington National, Baltimore-Wash, Boston, Hartford, Newark, La Guardia, JFK, and Philadelphia.
Within Alaska: Car classes B - Compact 4-door, C -Midsize 4-door, D - Sporty 2 Door, F - Full-size 4-door, G - Luxury Premium 4-door, I - Luxury 4-door, R - Minivan, L - 4-Wheel Drive may intercity from June 1 - September 30. Rentals returned outside of the renting city will be subject to a drop fee of $100. One-way rentals are not permitted to/from Alaska.
Vehicles may not be driven into Mexico.

Drop offs between Airport and Downtown or v.v. at Seattle (SEA) will incur a US$50 charge and at Honolulu (HNL) will incur a US$30 charge. One way drop fees between other Hawaii depots i.e.: Hilo to Kona & Kahalui to West Maui are based on mileage between depots - (approx US$50)

C -Midsize 4-door, F - Full-size 4-door, G - Luxury Premium 4-door, I - Luxury 4-door, R - Minivan, L - 4-Wheel Drive are allowed to go one way at Corporate Locations.
All one-way rentals must be confirmed in advance rentals must be over 5 days. Drop off charges may apply. Guaranteed drop charges are paid locally by clients directly to Hertz. Vehicles may not be driven into Mexico.
Alamo:
Some one ways are available to or from CANADA/USA. Please call for details.
Vehicles can be driven in any province in Canada but must be returned to the location from which they were rented or drop-off charges will apply. Vehicles are allowed One Way between provinces.
