Top Adelaide Driving Experiences
Adelaide Coast
A beach so near... just 15 minutes from the city, the waters of Gulf St Vincent wash onto a wide band of fine, white sand, which stretches virtually unbroken for more than 30 kilometres. Adelaide's metropolitan coast begins at the tip of the narrow Le Fevre Peninsula, created by the Barker Inlet's sweep of waters, and ends at Sellicks Beach, where the sandstone cliffs begin their run down to the tip of the Fleurieu Peninsula. In between are wide sandy beaches and cool, blue waters, reefs, wetlands and estuaries, and the cliffs that glow with the setting sun.

The Federation Trail
Is a self driving tour of selected sites covering a large area of The City of Holdfast Bay, utilising a number of technologies for the first time. Commencing at Alison Street, Glenelg and finishing at Strickland Road, Kingston Park.
The Federation Trail links many important places of historical, social and environmental significance, from ancient land forms like Tjilbruke Spring and coastal sand dunes to houses of the wealthy and the poor, the famous and the influential. From a place of refuge, to one of final resting for notable identities.
Each site features a marker with information broadcasted and received by FM radios, allowing participants to listen to stories by tuning their radios to 92MH. Depending on how many sites you wish to visit the Federation Trail could take half an hour to half a day with a lunch break in between.
The Federation Trail is supported by the Commonwealth Government through the Federation Fund. Brochures featuring a map are available at the Bay Discovery Centre.

Share with them the pure air and clean water that makes Kangaroo Island one of the last unspoiled wonders of the world. The people of Kangaroo Island see prosperity in tourism but know the value of what they have and are working hard to find the right balance between development and conservation. We invite you to discover our unique part of the world - a very special island with all the scenic variety of mainland Australia, without the crowds.
Evidence of stone tools and Aboriginal campsites were discovered in the early 1900s, but to the early explorers the Island appeared to be uninhabited as shown by the lack of campfires and tameness of the wildlife. Subsequent dating of charcoal campfire remains indicates that Aboriginal people were living on the Island at least as early as 10,000 years ago. Why the Aboriginal people abandoned Kangaroo Island or when they last lived here, is not known.
