Great care has been taken to ensure all the information on this website is as accurate as possible.

Payments & Currency

Once the reservation has been paid in full no currency surcharges will be applied.

Credit Card Fees/ Processing Fee

If you wish to pay by Credit Card we do charge a small fee to recoup these processing costs.
You can if you wish pay by direct deposit within Australia. Details are on your invoice.
This fee also ensures we have the latest online security technology. We use a 128 bit industry standard SSL recognized by all popular browsers Comodo Digital Certificate. All information relating your reservation and your personal details sent to us via the Internet is 100% secure for your peace of mind.

Late Bookings

Generally we do not charge late booking fees as long as we can confirm your needs then we will e-voucher your documents. For Citroën DriveEurope™ & Peugeot leasing we do require 4 weeks lead in time before collection of vehicle.

Amendment Fees / Service Fees / Cancellation Fees

Amendment Fees are not charged unless documents have been issued. Amendments after departure are subject to supplier's confirmation. No Service Fees will be applied to land only bookings or car hire bookings.

After Confirmation & Payment a $20 cancellation processing fee will be charged.

During some Fair Periods & High Seasons, Hotel cancellation fees are 100%, regardless of cancellation notice given.

Travel Documents

When we have received full payment we will then issue your documents. Note that it is your responsibility to ensure that you have correct visa and passport requirements for the countries you are intending to visit.

Travel Insurance

Comprehensive Personal Travel insurance is highly recommended and most now include Car rental Excess clauses. We strongly suggest that your travel insurance policy includes cover for cancellation charges, in the event of cancellation due to illness and other circumstances This can be arranged through Suresave.

Car Rental

Personal accident insurance. Personal accident insurance should be covered in your holiday insurance. It is an option that you will be offered on collection of the car. You will be asked for a deposit for fuel and it is usually refunded if the car is returned with a full tank. Please check the fuel policy when you pick up your car.

Special Requests Child seats.

These are mandatory in most countries and must be requested at the time of booking.

Roof racks, ski racks and snow chains.

These are available in some locations and should be especially requested at the time of booking. There is usually a charge for them which is payable locally. No guarantee can be made regarding their availability.

Age of Drivers.

Some age restrictions may apply and young driver's surcharges which are paid on collection of your vehicle.

Additional Drivers

Charges can be made for additional drivers and these are paid on collection of your vehicle.

Driving Licences

Drivers must produce a full National driving licence held for at least one year (or in some cases an international driving licence). We recommend you carry an International Drivers Permit (IDP) to be used in conjunction with your domestic driver's licence to avoid difficulties overseas, particularly if driving in non-English speaking countries. It is the driver's responsibility to ensure that he/she has the appropriate driving licence.

No refunds will be given for rentals rejected due to non-production of a driving licence. Faxes or photocopies of licences are not acceptable.

Deposits

All clients must produce a valid credit card in the name of the driver upon collection of the car as a form of deposit. Cash deposits are rarely accepted. A deposit is often payable for petrol and it is usually refunded if the car is returned with a full tank. If the tank is not full, petrol used will be charged by our local supplier at the prevailing rate. Deposits against damage are required in all Countries and a major credit card can be used for this purpose.

No Show

No refunds can be given for services terminated early or for "no shows" or cancellations made after the start date of the service.

Period of Rental

The minimum rental period in most of our destinations is 1 day but many countries do require 3 Days. With Motorhomes the minimum is normally 5 Days. Car Rental days are based on 24 hours & Motorhomes and leasing based on calendar day. The price is determined by the start date of the rental. If you wish to extend the rental period after the collection of your car, or if you return the car late, you will be charged locally at the local daily rate - which may be higher than our rates. No refunds are payable on vehicles returned early.

Flight Information

For airport pickups it is essential that we be given the correct flight number and arrival time, before issuing your voucher. If this is not available at the time of booking, please ensure that you inform us of this at least seven days prior to departure. If the information is not provided in time, no responsibility can be accepted or compensation allowed for a failed rental.

Insurance Exclusions and Excess

In common with most car rental companies the insurance cover offered by many of our suppliers does not cover tyres, windscreens, the roof, the underside and interior of the vehicle and towing charges. You may therefore be liable for damage to these items. Most suppliers also impose excess that will be advised at the time of collection. This means you are liable for the first part of any insurance claim. Insurance cover is not provided for contents of the car in case of theft.

Car Type/Suitability

globalCARS.com.au are unable to guarantee a particular make or model of car. All cars are confirmed by Group and will generally be available but may be substituted for an alternative similar or upgraded car (at no extra cost)

Additional Conditions for Australia

Mileage - All rentals in metropolitan areas of Australia include unlimited mileage. In country areas rates include 200 kilometres/day. In remote areas the rates include 100 kilometres/day. In both cases, excess kilometres are charged at AU$0.25 per kilometre.

Deposits - A security deposit of between AU$250 and AU$1,000 dollars (depending on car group) is required upon collection of the vehicle. Any major credit card in the driver's name is acceptable for this holding deposit.

General Conditions applicable to all Bookings

All bookings by clients are subject to our Terms and Conditions. No other terms, conditions or warranties, expressed or implied by law, custom and course of dealing shall form part of any contract between globalCARS.com.au and our clients except for those terms implied by law whose application is mandatory. The client acknowledges that in making a booking with globalCARS.com.au it does so only on the basis of the material contained herein. All other statements or representations made by globalCARS.com.au, its employees, or agents are of no effect unless confirmed to the client in writing. globalCARS.com.au sources vehicles from various suppliers for the countries in which it offers rentals. The rental of the vehicle will be subject to the law of the country in which it is supplied to you and for this reason you will be required to sign a rental contract with the rental company which supplies the vehicle. You will be subject to its terms and conditions and local law. globalCARS.com.au reserves the right to levy any government increase in local taxes that may be introduced after compiling the information contained herein. globalCARS.com.au also reserves the right to make additional charges incurred as a result of fluctuations in currency exchange rates. However, once the reservation has been paid in full no currency surcharges will be applied. Any additional charges payable on arrival are subject to local taxes at the prevailing rate applicable in that country. globalCARS.com.au liability to the client for any loss, damage, injury or accident whatsoever, whether arising out of negligence, breach of contract or any other cause shall not exceed the invoiced price of rental of the vehicle concerned provided that nothing in this clause shall limit globalCARS.com.au liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence. globalCARS.com.au will not be held responsible for any person driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, causing wilful damage, off road driving or driving without due care and attention. We strongly discourage fictitious or duplicate reservations. If we establish that an individual user has submitted and confirmed multiple identical bookings, we reserve the right to cancel one or all of the reservations without notice to the requester. The client shall indemnify globalCARS.com.au against this in respect of any such claims.
This list is not exhaustive; restrictions may apply at peak times with special weekend rates. Cars and all offers are subject to availability, and all information, including prices, is believed to be correct at the time of preparing this information - September 2006.

Customer Service Issues

In the unlikely event you are dissatisfied in any way with the standard of the services you have paid for, you must advise the local supplier immediately and globalCARS.com.au in writing within 21 days of your return. globalCARS.com.au cannot accept liability where this procedure is not followed.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Please note that car operators may charge other fees over the above period. We will endeavour to notify you of any charges relating to the above special period at the time of Booking.

ACRISS / SIPP CODES what they are... why they're useful...

Because individual rental companies may use different letter codes to identify similar car groups, to avoid confusion the international travel industry has adopted ACRISS / SIPP codes as a useful standard. Where possible, globalCARS.com.au shows both the rental company's group code followed by the ACRISS / SIPP 4-letter code. For example a car described in this brochure as ECMR would be:
